I installed steam from the steam-overlay using layman, and my system is fully up to date (~amd64). However, these messages appear when launching games that do run too, so I have no idea if they are at all related to the issue. Steam still recognises and shows my friends that I'm playing ME3, but I have no access to the overlay and the screenshot key does nothing. However, I tried launching ME3 again today in the exact same way, and the overlay no longer comes up. As recently as February of this year, this was working perfectly. I didn't even need to follow TheManuel's steps: all I had to do was add both Origin and ME3 as non-Steam games and launch ME3 from Steam. I've been playing Mass Effect 3 in conjunction with the Steam overlay for years, mainly for the screenshot functionality. ![]()
